About me (Psychologist Tuncay Özer)

I was born in Kayseri , in 1973. I finished my primary and secondary school in Kayseri . My interest in psychology and hypnotherapy commenced with meeting Yavuz Yücel, my psychology teacher. When I was in high school, my only purpose was to grow to be a psychologist. I commenced hypnotherapy studies with the influences of Mr. Yücel at those years. Mr. Yücel was often talking about hypnosis and applied some tests about the susceptibility to hypnosis in class. Thanks to him, I firstly met with hypnosis in 1990.

I graduated from the Psychology Department of Istanbul University, in 1997. Since 1997, I’ve worked in many hospitals, mostly in Özel Bakırköy Yaşar Hastanesi. I am attending my self-employing life.  I am the founder secretary of Scientific Hypnosis Association (in Turkey) and I am a board of directory member in Medical Hypnosis Association.

I applied some researches with Dt. Ali Eşref Müezzinoğlu- the faculty member in Yeditepe University and the president of Medical Hypnosis Association.

Being an assistant of Dt. Ali Eşref Müezzinoğlu who has experienced hypnosis for 32 years is the proudest study of my life. I applied hypnosis courses, organized by Yeditepe University , as a as lecturer. 

I can sum up my vision of life in one sentence: “the treasures of life are not concealed in “THINGS” but in “PEOPLE”.”  That each man is undoubtedly a treasure is learned to me by Mr. Yücel.  I start my journey to find these treasures by studying hypnosis and psychology. Hypnosis became a submarine to go down the depths.  You may wonder what things are there in depths. There are pearls in depths. I realize when I sink the depths that each man is unique, natural, and pure and worthy like a snow crystal. No one is bad. if a pearl does not lose its value when it contagious with mud, people never lost their worth for me.

The person I was influenced most is Milton H. Erickson. I am the author of “Hypnosis and Psychotherapy”. I am married for 6 years.
